A.C. Milan, founded in 1899 by Alfred Edwards, is an Italian football club based in Milan, Lombardy. It is a team in the top tier of Italian football. Besides the 1980-81 and 1982-83 seasons, the club has a long history in Serie A and is known as the "Rossoneri."
A.C. Milan won its first Serie A title in 1901. In 1908, a disagreement led to the creation of Inter Milan, forming the historic Derby della Madonnina. In the 1950s, the "Gre-No-Li" Swedish trio won four Serie A titles. In the 1960s and 70s, Riva led the team to its first Champions League title and accumulated numerous honors. In 1979, the club won its 10th Serie A title.
Since Berlusconi took over in 1986, the club entered a golden era, with the Dutch trio helping the team win back-to-back Champions League titles. Under Capello, they achieved an unbeaten run of 58 league matches, and Ancelotti led them to another Champions League victory, reaching the Champions League final for the seventh time in 2007. The club was involved in the "Calciopoli" scandal in 2006 and has since undergone several changes in ownership.
In the 2021-22 season, Pioli led the team to win the 19th Serie A title with 86 points. The 2024-25 season was turbulent, although they won the Italian Super Cup, they failed to qualify for European competitions for the first time since 2016.
