Almere City Football Club, often referred to as "Almere City," and officially named Almere City FC in English, was founded in 2001 and is located in Almere, Netherlands. It is a Dutch professional football club. The predecessor of Almere City Football Club was the Anniho Football Club, which was renamed in the 2010-11 season.
Although the club has not yet achieved major honors, it won the Dutch Second Division title in the 2009-2010 season and was promoted. In recent years, the team's performance has steadily improved. In the 2022-2023 season of the Dutch Second Division, the team performed exceptionally well and historically qualified for the Dutch Eredivisie through the playoffs, marking a significant milestone in the club's development.
