In 2023, the club achieved a historic breakthrough, earning promotion to the German second division for the first time, becoming one of the few clubs from the Saarland region to compete in professional leagues.
In the second round of the German Cup in October 2024, Ebersberg lost 0-3 to Leverkusen and was eliminated in the next round. In the following 2024-2025 season of the German Second Division, the team performed well and qualified for the promotion playoff. Unfortunately, in the playoff, they lost to Heidenheim with an aggregate score of 3-4 over two legs and failed to advance. In June 2024, the club signed Elias Baum on loan. In June 2025, Robin Fehr will transfer away from the team.
