Team Introduction

FC Anyang (formerly known as FC Anyang), is a professional football club based in Anyang, South Korea. After the K League implemented a decentralization policy in 1995, the Seoul LG Cheetahs moved to Anyang in 1996 and became Anyang LG Cheetahs. In 2004, the team moved back to Seoul and was renamed FC Seoul, a move that was not well-received by Anyang fans and became a source of dissatisfaction with FC Seoul for later FC Anyang fans.

With the establishment of the K League 2, Anyang City seized the opportunity to rebuild the team. In October 2012, despite opposition from the city council, a bylaw was passed to establish a professional football team. In December, a public vote determined the team name as FC Anyang, and the club was officially established on February 1, 2013.

In 2024, the team won its first championship in club history, becoming the 2024 K League 2 champion and directly qualifying for the top-tier K League for the first time.
