Team Introduction

Auckland Football Club (commonly known as "Auckland", English name: Auckland Football Club) was founded on March 14, 2024, and is a professional football club located in Auckland, New Zealand.

On October 19, 2024, Auckland FC made its debut in the A-League Men at Mount Smart Stadium, facing Brisbane Roar. In front of 24,492 fans, Auckland FC won 2-0, marking a successful start. This victory initiated a strong start for the team, followed by five consecutive wins, maintaining an unbeaten record in the first seven rounds of the league.

Auckland City suffered their first defeat of the season at home, unexpectedly losing 0-4 to Western United. However, this defeat did not disrupt the team's overall rhythm, and they adjusted their form in subsequent matches, ultimately finishing the regular season of the 2024-25 A-League Men's season as champions, becoming the first New Zealand club to win the league title in A-League history.

Because New Zealand belongs to the Oceania Football Confederation, not the Asian Football Confederation, Auckland City is unable to qualify for the AFC Champions League elite stage. However, based on their second-place finish in the league, they directly advanced to the A-League final stage.
