FC Barcelona, commonly known as "Barça", was founded in 1899 and is a professional football club based in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain, nicknamed "the Blaugrana". The club was established by a group of Swiss, Catalan, German, and British football players led by Joan Gamper in 1899.
The club is one of the most awarded teams in the world. Since its inception, it has won 80 major trophies, including: 28 La Liga titles, 32 Copa del Rey titles, 2 Spanish League Cup titles, 15 Spanish Super Cup titles, and 3 Eva Duarte Cup titles.
In 2009, the team achieved the only "treble" in the history of Spanish football, winning the La Liga, Copa del Rey, and UEFA Champions League titles in one go. In the second half of the year, they also secured the Spanish Supercup, UEFA Supercup, and FIFA Club World Cup, thus completing the second "six titles" achievement in the history of world football, etching their name in football history.
The team has nurtured many stars throughout its history, such as Messi, Xavi, and Iniesta. In the 2025 season, the team's performance is slightly weaker compared to before, as they rebuild while retaining the original core squad.
