Breidablik Football Club (abbreviated as "Breidablik", in English: Breidablik) was established in 1950 and is a professional football club located in the outskirts of Reykjavik, the capital of Iceland.
The team is known for its excellent youth training system and is dubbed the "Nordic La Masia", having produced many Icelandic internationals, including Sigurdsson. The club won the Icelandic Premier League title twice around 2010 and showcased outstanding performance in the 2024 UEFA Champions League qualifiers. The team maintains the traditional characteristics of Icelandic football, with many players still holding second professions such as bakers.
Through a community-based operation model, Breiðablik not only supplies talent to the Icelandic national team but has also become an important force in promoting the rise of Icelandic football. After introducing players like defender David Ingvarsson in 2024, this team, which combines local characteristics with an international perspective, continues to write legends on both domestic and international stages.
