Team Introduction

Burnley Football Club (abbreviated as "Burnley", English name: Burnley F.C.) was founded in 1882, and its full name is Burnley Football Club. It is commonly referred to by fans as Burnley, a professional football club located in Burnley, Lancashire, England, nicknamed "The Clarets."

In 1883, it became a professional club, advocating for the Football Association to allow player salaries. In 1888, it became a founding member and began its league journey, with William Tait scoring the first hat-trick in the league. In the 1913-14 season, it won the FA Cup for the first time, and in the 1920-21 season, it won its first top-flight league title and set a record of 30 unbeaten matches.

In the 1959-60 season, they topped the top league for the second time, with most of the main players coming from the youth academy, making Burnley, with a population of 80,000, one of the smallest champion towns. In the 1991-92 season, they won the fourth-tier league, becoming the second team to sweep all four levels of professional football in England. They returned to the Premier League in the 2008-09 season, and under Sean Dyche, they were promoted twice, finishing seventh in the Premier League in the 2017-18 season to qualify for European competition.

After foreign investment took over in 2020, Vincent Kompany led the team to a record early promotion to the Premier League seven rounds ahead in the 2022-23 season, winning the Championship title. In the 2024-25 season, under Scott Parker's management, they were promoted to the Premier League again, finishing as runners-up in the Championship with an unbeaten record of 33 matches and 100 points, setting the best defensive record in English league history (16 goals conceded in 46 matches, with 30 clean sheets).
