Team Introduction

Birmingham City Football Club (commonly known as "Birmingham", English name: Birmingham City FC) was founded in 1875 and is a professional football club based in Birmingham, England.

In 1888, it became the first football club to be managed by a board of directors; in 1956, it became the first English team to participate in European competitions; in 1979, it sold the first player in British football to be valued at one million pounds, Trevor Francis. They reached the finals of the European Cup Winners' Cup twice in the 1960s, and in 1963, they defeated their arch-rivals Aston Villa to win the League Cup.

Birmingham City's fate has been like a roller coaster. They have experienced multiple promotions and relegations between the top and second tiers, and after a surprising victory over Arsenal to win the League Cup in 2011, they unfortunately faced relegation. In recent years, the club has gone through financial crises and changes in ownership, and in 2024, they unfortunately dropped to League One, but then immediately bounced back to the Championship as League One champions in the 2024/25 season.
