Team Introduction

Blackpool Football Club (commonly known as "Blackpool", in English: Blackpool F.C.) was founded in 1877 and is a professional football club based in the seaside town of Blackpool in North West England.

The team is known for its orange home kit and is nicknamed "The Seasiders". Its most glorious achievement was winning the FA Cup in 1953, coming from behind to defeat Bolton 4-3 in the final, a match famously known as the "Matthews Final". The team also finished as runners-up in the top division in 1956.

Since being relegated from the top division in 1967, Blackpool has spent a long time competing in lower leagues. They first promoted to the Premier League in 2010 through the Championship play-offs, but were relegated a year later. The team has since experienced several ups and downs, having dropped to League Two in 2016, then promoted twice in 2017 and 2021, and again relegated from the Championship to League One in 2023. The "West Lancashire Derby" between Blackpool and Preston is an important rivalry for the team.
