Team Introduction

Brisbane City Football Club (abbreviated as 'Brisbane', English name: Brisbane FC) was established in 1952 and is a semi-professional football club located in the Newmarket area of Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.

In 1977, the club became one of the founding members of the National Soccer League. That same year, they played their first NSL match. Although the team performed poorly in the first two NSL seasons, even finding themselves at the bottom of the standings at one point, they showed stronger competitiveness in cup competitions, winning the National Soccer League Cup championship for two consecutive years. From 1982 to 1983, Brisbane City faced a downturn, finishing last in the 1982 season and third from the bottom in the 1983 season, while their city rivals, Brisbane Lions, were also at the bottom of the standings. This period became a difficult phase for football in the city of Brisbane.

In the following three seasons, the NSL expanded and was divided into two zones, with Brisbane City placed in the southern zone alongside teams from Melbourne and Adelaide, but their performance did not improve. In 1987, the NSL reverted to a single competition format and reduced the number of participating teams, leading to Brisbane City and Brisbane Lions being relegated to the Brisbane Super League, ending a ten-season run in the national league. In the 2021 season, Brisbane City performed strongly in the Queensland Football Super League, achieving an impressive record of 20 consecutive wins, successfully returning to the Queensland Super League.
