FC Dordrecht, abbreviated as "Dordrecht", was founded in 1883 and is located in the city of Dordrecht, South Holland. It is a Dutch professional football club and one of the oldest football clubs in the Netherlands, holding a special place in the history of Dutch football development.
In 1954, the club successfully promoted to the top tier of Dutch football for the first time, marking a significant breakthrough in the club's development. The club has won the Dutch Eerste Divisie championship several times, with the most notable being the 1983-1984 season's Eerste Divisie title, which directly helped the team to ascend to the Eredivisie and secured qualification for subsequent European competitions.
In the same season, they finished fourth in the Eredivisie and qualified for the UEFA Cup for the first time, marking the club's debut in European competitions.
