FC Eindhoven, abbreviated as "Eindhoven", was founded in 1909 and is located in Eindhoven, Netherlands. It is a Dutch professional football club. The club's predecessor was EVV Eindhoven, formed by the merger of Sparta and Eindhovia.
FC Eindhoven won the Eredivisie championship in 1954, the KNVB Cup in 1937, was promoted to the Eredivisie in 1975, and was promoted to the second division in 1971. In the 2009-10 season, FC Eindhoven qualified for the promotion playoffs and advanced to the Eredivisie.
In 1939, PSV Eindhoven won the Southern Region Championship of the Dutch First Division and competed for the Dutch League Championship against teams such as DWS, NEC, Ajax, and Achilles 1894.
