Göteborg Football Club (abbreviated as "Göteborg", English name: IFK Göteborg) was founded on October 4, 1904, and is a football club located in Gothenburg, the capital of Västra Götaland County in Sweden.
As one of the traditional powerhouses of Swedish football, this blue and white army has won over 15 Swedish top league championships and more than 5 Swedish Cup titles, and holds the best record for Scandinavian teams in European competitions, with two UEFA Cup championships (1982, 1987). They won their first national championship in 1908.
In the 1930s, they began to dominate Swedish football and became the first Swedish team to participate in the European Cup in 1958. The 1980s were the golden era for Gothenburg, as they achieved a domestic three-peat (1982-1984) and made remarkable achievements in Europe, reaching the UEFA Champions League semi-finals in 1986. In the early 1990s, the team created the glory of five consecutive league titles (1991-1995).
Gothenburg is known for its iconic blue and white striped jerseys, and the club has produced numerous Swedish football legends, including Gunnar Gren and Glenn Strömberg, among other legendary players.
