Granada Club de Fútbol (abbreviated as "Granada", English name: Granada CF), was founded on April 6, 1931, and is a professional football club located in the city of Granada, in the autonomous community of Andalusia, Spain. It was originally named Granada Recreational Club before being renamed Granada Club de Fútbol.
Granada's first goal in the top tier of Spanish football was scored by César Rodríguez Álvarez. From 1942 to the 1980s, Granada alternated between the top division and the Segunda División, with its golden era being from the late 1960s to the mid-1970s.
The 2002-03 season saw the team relegated to the fourth division due to the failure to pay player salaries during the presidency of Francisco Jiménez. In the 2022-23 season, Granada topped the standings on the final matchday, returning to La Liga. However, in the 2023-24 season, Granada was immediately relegated back to the second division.
