Grimsby Town Football Club (abbreviated as "Grimsby", in English: Grimsby Town F.C.) was founded in 1878 and is a professional football club located in the town of Cleethorpes, North East Lincolnshire, England.
The team has experienced fluctuations in the league throughout its history, first being promoted to the top division in 1901 and achieving its best-ever finish by placing fifth in the Third Division during the 1934-35 season. The club has seen multiple promotions and relegations throughout the twentieth century, having dropped to the fifth tier of the National League until returning to League Two in the 2016-17 season.
Chinese player Zhang Enhua was loaned to the team from 2000 to 2001, contributing 3 goals. In 2023, Grimsby Town caused an upset by defeating Southampton, reaching the FA Cup quarter-finals for the first time in 84 years. In August 2025, the team eliminated Manchester United in a penalty shootout 12-11 in the League Cup, setting another classic record in the club's history.
