Häcken Football Club (abbreviated as "Häcken", English name: BK Häcken) was founded on August 2, 1940, and is a football club located in Gothenburg, Sweden.
The club name "Häcken" (meaning hedge) comes from the dense hedges surrounding their original training ground, and this unique name has been retained to this day. As a rising force in the Allsvenskan, Häcken has rapidly emerged in recent years. In 2022, this club, traditionally seen as a "team of the people", made history by winning the Swedish top league championship for the first time, breaking the long-standing dominance of IFK Göteborg in the Gothenburg area. In cup competitions, Häcken has also performed excellently, lifting the Swedish Cup trophy four times, with the most recent victory in 2025.
Despite limited resources, Häcken has gradually grown into an undeniable force in Swedish football thanks to its excellent youth training system and tactical innovations. The club has produced numerous Swedish internationals, and its fast-paced, fluid attacking style is beloved by fans. From a small stadium surrounded by hedges to the pinnacle of Swedish football, Häcken's rise is one of the most inspiring legends in Swedish football history.
