Celtic Football Club (commonly known as "Celtic", in English: The Celtic Football Club) was founded on November 6, 1887, and is a professional football club based in Glasgow, Scotland.
The team's rivalry with city rivals Glasgow Rangers is known as the "Old Firm Derby", with both teams long dominating Scottish football. Celtic became the first British team to win the European Cup in 1967, and this team, known as the "Lisbon Lions", also achieved the remarkable feat of winning the "Treble", which includes the league, cup, and European Cup, with all players coming from within a 30-mile radius of the club, setting a unique record. Domestically, Celtic won the Scottish Premiership title for nine consecutive years (2012-2020).
The club has experienced financial crises and low periods in its history, but under the leadership of several renowned coaches, it has repeatedly returned to its peak, including achieving the "domestic treble" during Martin O'Neill's era, and recently dominating the domestic league again. Celtic is not only known for its glorious achievements but also for its passionate fan culture and rich historical tradition in European football.
