Kaiserslautern Football Club (abbreviated as "Kaiserslautern", English name: 1. FC Kaiserslautern) was founded in 1900 and is located in Kaiserslautern, Germany. It is a German professional football club.
In 1951, Kaiserslautern won its first German football championship by defeating Prussia Münster 2-1. They won the championship again in 1953, but reached the finals in 1954 and 1955, both times ending in defeat. In 1954, Kaiserslautern also sent five players to the national team to participate in the World Cup. Ultimately, West Germany won the championship in the final, which is sometimes referred to as the "Miracle of Bern."
In the 2023-24 season, Kaiserslautern achieved a surprising performance in the DFB-Pokal, defeating the fourth-tier club 1. FC Koblenz, Bundesliga team 1. FC Köln, second-tier club 1. FC Nürnberg, and third-tier club 1. FC Saarbrücken to reach the DFB-Pokal final. This marked their first appearance in the final in 21 years, where they narrowly lost 0-1 to the defending champions Bayer Leverkusen.
