Team Introduction

Qarabağ FK, established on July 23, 1951, is a professional football club located in Baku, Azerbaijan.

The club is the most legendary team in Azerbaijani football. Originally based in Agdam, the club was forced to relocate to Baku due to the Nagorno-Karabakh War, but subsequently made history in Azerbaijani football. After regaining the league title in 2014, the team appeared in the UEFA Europa League group stage for three consecutive years, and in 2017 became the first Azerbaijani club to reach the UEFA Champions League group stage, even managing to draw against La Liga powerhouse Atlético Madrid at home.

In December 2023, the club's victory in the cup match held at the Hankend Stadium in the Nagorno-Karabakh region marked the revival of football enthusiasm in the area after 30 years. Karabakh, which has emerged from the ravages of war, demonstrates through its performance on the pitch the power of football to transcend regional boundaries.
