CD Leganes, abbreviated as "Leganes", was founded in 1928 and is located in Leganes, Madrid, Spain. It is a professional football club in Spain. Due to the Spanish Civil War, the club suspended operations in 1936 and resumed activities after being restructured on September 4, 1946.
In the 2013-14 season, Leganes played 10 seasons in the Segunda División before being promoted to La Liga. In the 2015-16 season, the team was promoted to La Liga for the first time in its history, but was relegated after four seasons. Until the 2023-24 season, they won the Segunda División championship and returned to La Liga to compete in the 2024-25 season.
On December 24, 2008, Victoria Pavan and Felipe Moreno acquired the majority stake in the club. Since July 2009, Victoria Pavan has served as the club president.
