Team Introduction

Luton Town Football Club (abbreviated as "Luton", English name: Luton Town F.C.) was established in 1885. Its full name is Luton Town Football Club, and it is commonly referred to as Luton by fans. It is a professional football club located in Luton, Bedfordshire, England, nicknamed "The Hatters". It became the first fully professional club in Southern England in 1891; joined the Football League in 1897, withdrew in 1900 due to financial issues, and rejoined in 1920.

In the 1955-56 season, they were promoted to the top division, reached the FA Cup final in the 1958-59 season, and were relegated the following year. They returned to the top division in the 1973-74 season and won the English Division Two championship in the 1981-82 season, earning promotion to Division One.

At the end of the 1982-83 season, they secured their place in the league with a last-minute goal. In the 1987-88 season, they won the League Cup for the first time by defeating Arsenal 3-2, and the following year they reached the League Cup final again (losing to Nottingham Forest). In the 1986-87 season, they achieved their best league finish in history, placing seventh. After being relegated in the 1991-92 season, they fell into a slump. In the 2008-09 season, they were deducted 30 points for financial irregularities, dropping from the Championship to non-league football, marking the beginning of a five-year non-league career.

In the 2013-14 season, they won the Conference Premier title and returned to the league. From the 2017-18 to 2018-19 seasons, they were promoted two levels to the Championship. In the 2022-23 season, they were promoted to the Premier League through the playoffs, completing a 'five-level jump'. After their first win in the Premier League in the 2023-24 season, they were relegated, and in the 2024-25 season, they were relegated again to League One.
