Rosenborg Ballklub (abbreviated as "Rosenborg", English name: Rosenborg BK) was founded on May 19, 1917, and is a football club located in Trondheim, Norway.
The team's golden era occurred from the 1990s to the early 2000s. From 1992 to 2004, Rosenborg set an astonishing record of winning the league championship for 13 consecutive years, a feat only surpassed in world football by the Latvian team Skonto's 14 consecutive titles. This glorious period also made them a regular presence in European competitions, as they reached the UEFA Champions League group stage for eight consecutive years and made history by reaching the round of 16 in the 1996/97 season, with their home victory against AC Milan becoming a classic match in the club's European history.
The club has produced many legendary figures throughout its history, including Roar Strand, who set a record with over 600 appearances, and the club's all-time top scorer, Harald Martin Brattbakk. In recent years, despite facing challenges from emerging strong teams like Molde, Rosenborg has maintained its strong competitiveness, achieving a four consecutive league titles again from 2015 to 2018, proving its dominance in Norwegian football.
