Team Introduction

Minnesota United Football Club (abbreviated as "Minnesota", English name: Minnesota United Football Club) was established on March 25, 2015. It is a professional soccer club in the United States, headquartered in the Minneapolis-Saint Paul metropolitan area. The club participates in the Western Conference of Major League Soccer. It began play in 2017, becoming the 22nd club in the league, and replaced the namesake team from the North American Soccer League (NASL).

The club completed the construction of Allianz Field, a soccer-specific stadium located in Saint Paul, in early 2019. The ownership is led by Bill McGuire, former CEO of UnitedHealth Group, and includes other Minnesota sports owners: the Pohlad family (owners of the Twins); Glen Taylor, owner of the NBA's Timberwolves; former Wild investor Glen Nelson and his daughter Wendy Carlson-Nelson (Carlson Hotels).
