(Società Sportiva Calcio Napoli), commonly known as Napoli, was founded in 1905 by William Potter as the "Naples Football and Cricket Club". In 1922, it merged with Internaples, and in 1926, it was renamed "Naples Football Club". In 1964, it was renamed "SSC Napoli". Located in Naples, Italy, it is a professional football club, nicknamed the "Lightning".
Won the first Coppa Italia in 1962, setting a record by winning the title in Serie B. In 1976, they won the Coppa Italia and the Anglo-Italian League Cup again. In 1984, they signed Maradona, marking the beginning of a golden era. In 1987, they won the double of Serie A and Coppa Italia. In 1989, they won the UEFA Cup, and in 1990, they won Serie A and the Italian Super Cup again. After Maradona's departure, the club entered a period of decline. In 2004, the club went bankrupt and was restructured, starting from Serie C1, and returned to Serie A in 2007.
Won the Coppa Italia three times in 2012, 2014, and 2020, and the Supercoppa Italiana in 2014. In 2023, they won the Serie A title after 33 years, and in 2025, they secured their fourth Serie A championship in club history, becoming a strong force in Serie A over the past three years.
