Team introduction

Nottingham Forest Football Club (commonly known as "Forest", English name: Nottingham Forest F.C.) was founded in 1865. The full name is Nottingham Forest Football Club, and it is a professional football club located in Nottingham, England. It is generally referred to as "Forest" by fans.

Originating from a group of hockey players, the club's name is related to Sherwood Forest. In 1866, they played their first official match against Nottinghamshire. In the 1878-79 season, they participated in the FA Cup for the first time. They won the FA Cup in 1898, establishing their early status in English football. In the early 20th century, the club experienced league promotions and relegations, as well as financial crises, but survived due to support during World War I and internal efforts.

The period from 1975 to 1982 was the most glorious era. In the 1977-78 season, the team won the English Second Division championship as a newly promoted team, becoming the last team to achieve this feat. In the 1978-79 and 1979-80 seasons, they won the European Cup consecutively, becoming one of the six English teams to have won the Champions League. Notably, their number of Champions League titles (2) is greater than the number of domestic top league titles (1), a unique achievement in Europe. During this period, they also won the League Cup and the Community Shield, and set a record of 42 unbeaten matches in the league (later broken by Arsenal), becoming a legend in English football.

After Taylor left in 1982, the club began to decline. In 1993, they were relegated from the first season of the Premier League, and in the following decades, they fluctuated between the Championship and League One. Although there were occasional highlights in cup competitions (such as winning the League Cup in 1989 and 1990), they were长期脱离顶级联赛. In the 2010s, the club experienced multiple changes in management and coaching staff, and financial problems were frequent. The 2005-06 season, when they were relegated to League One (the third tier), was the lowest point in the club's history.

In 2022, under the management of Steve Cooper, they won the Championship play-off final against Huddersfield, returning to the Premier League after 23 years. In the 2023-24 season, they narrowly avoided relegation despite being deducted 4 points for violating financial regulations, finishing with 32 points. In the 2024-25 season, they finished seventh in the Premier League, returning to European competition (Europa League) after 30 years, marking the beginning of a new era.
