Blaublitz Akita, abbreviated as "秋天蓝色闪电" in Chinese, is a professional football club based in Akita City, Japan. Founded in 1965, the club originated from the football department of Tokyo Electric Power Company, which was established in the same year.
In 2006, the team won the Tohoku Regional League championship for the fifth consecutive year and automatically promoted to the Japan Football League after winning the national regional league playoffs. The team announced that if the club's final annual ranking could qualify for promotion, it would separate from its parent company and join the J. League. In May 2009, TDK Football Club announced that it would become independent for the 2010 season, based in Akita City.
The club moved to Akita City and was promoted to the J3 League in the 2014 season. In the first two years of the professional league, the club ranked eighth. In the 2017 season, which was their fourth season, they won the championship, but due to a lack of qualification to participate in a higher league, they failed to be promoted, becoming the first team to win the professional third division championship without being promoted.
In the 2013 season, the team did not achieve its first victory in the league until the 8th week, and since dropping to 17th place after the end of the 5th week, they never ranked higher than 16th. The team was defeated by Sagan Tosu in the 31st week, resulting in their first relegation to the 2014 J2 League. In the 2015 season, the club finished as runners-up and returned to the J1 League.
