Pachuca Football Club (abbreviated as "Pachuca", in English Club de Fútbol Pachuca) was founded on November 1, 1892, disbanded during the 1920-1921 season due to an event, and re-established in 1960. It is a professional football club located in Pachuca, Hidalgo, Mexico, participating in the top tier of Mexican football. The club's nickname is "Tuzos", a tribute to the club's and the city's history and mining heritage. The club's home ground is Estadio Hidalgo. The blue and white combination has been used as the main team colors since the early 1960s.
Founded on November 1, 1892, as Pachuca Football Club by workers of the Mexican Mining Company, which was mainly composed of British miner immigrants from Camberwell and Redruth, who were among the first to introduce football to Mexico. It was renamed Pachuca Athletic Club in 1895 and was re-established as Pachuca Football Club in 1960.
From 1999 to 2010, the team entered a golden era, winning 11 championships in 11 years, including 5 league titles, 4 CONCACAF Champions League titles, 1 Copa Sudamericana title, and 1 North American SuperLiga title. After winning the 2006 Fall League Championship, they qualified for the 2006 Copa Sudamericana. They won the final with an aggregate score of 3-2, claiming their first Copa Sudamericana title, becoming the first Mexican and Central American and Caribbean football club to win the Copa Sudamericana, and the only club in the world to officially win a championship from a confederation other than their own. In the 2024 FIFA Club World Cup final, they lost to Real Madrid, finishing as runners-up.
