Shelbourne Football Club, abbreviated as "Shelbourne", was founded in 1895 and is a professional football club located in Ramelton, Dublin, Ireland.
The team has won the league championship more than 10 times and the FAI Cup more than 5 times, making it one of the few teams in Irish football to have won both the Irish Cup and the FAI Cup. The 1960s marked the club's first golden era, achieving remarkable success domestically and beginning its journey in European competitions. In the 1990s, the club was revitalized with investment from the Donnelly family, and in the early 2000s, under the leadership of Dermot Keely and Pat Fenlon, it reached its peak, winning consecutive league titles and competing against giants like Barcelona and Atlético Madrid in European competitions.
Shurben has a special partnership with Manchester United, having supplied players like Tony Dunne, a member of the Champions League-winning team. The club emphasizes youth training and community development, with 17 youth teams and a football scholarship program in collaboration with local schools. Although it faced a severe financial crisis around 2006 that led to relegation, the resilient 'Red Army' has always managed to regroup and continue writing its own legend in Irish football.
