Valencia Club de Fútbol (commonly known as "Valencia", in English: Valencia CF), founded in 1919, is a professional football club based in Valencia, Spain, nicknamed "Los Murciélagos" (The Bats). The club is a member of the G-14 group of major European football clubs and has been a founding member of the European Club Association since its inception.
The 1940s marked the club's golden era, with the team winning the La Liga championship three times in the 1941-42, 1943-44, and 1946-47 seasons, as well as two Copa del Rey titles. In 1999, under the management of Héctor Cúper and Rafael Benítez, the team achieved 2 La Liga championships, 1 Copa del Rey title, 1 UEFA Cup title, 2 UEFA Champions League runner-up finishes, and 1 UEFA Super Cup title over the next five years.
The club is renowned worldwide for its prolific youth academy. Many world-class talents have emerged from their youth players, such as Raúl Albiol, Javier Farinós, David Albelda, Vicente Rodríguez, Gaisca Mendieta, and David Silva. Recent stars include Isco, Jordi Alba, Juan Bernat, José Gayà, Carlos Soler, Ferran Torres, Lee Kang-in, and Yunus Musah.
