Team Introduction

The Ukraine Olympic Football Team (abbreviated as "Ukraine U23", English name: Ukraine U23) is one of the representatives of Ukrainian youth football and will only assemble to compete when Ukraine qualifies for the Olympic football tournament.

The team's first appearance at the Olympic Games was during the Summer Olympics in Paris in 2024, led by Ruslan Rotan, who was an international midfielder for Ukraine, earning 100 caps for the national team and participating in the 2006 FIFA World Cup. After ending his playing career in 2018, he began coaching the Ukraine U21 team in 2019.

In 2023, the Ukraine U21 national football team defeated the strong French opponent with a score of 3:1 in the quarter-finals of the European Championship, successfully qualifying for the Olympic football tournament, marking the first time in Ukraine's football history that they reached the Olympic football event.

The first match of the Ukrainian Olympic team is a controlled game against the Japan U23 national football team on March 25, 2024. In June of the same year, they participated in the Maurice Revello Tournament, ultimately defeating the Ivory Coast U20 in a penalty shootout with a score of 5-4, winning their first championship.
