Team Introduction

Sheffield United Football Club (abbreviated as "Sheffield United", English name: Sheffield United F.C.) was founded in 1889. Its full name is Sheffield United Football Club, and fans commonly refer to it as "Sheffield United". It is a professional football club located in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England, nicknamed "The Blades", a name derived from Sheffield's history of cutlery production.

In 1892, it became a founding member of the Second Division and was promoted to the First Division in its first season. In the 1897-98 season, it won the top league championship, and from 1899 to 1925, it won the FA Cup four times, competing in the top league for 41 consecutive years.

After being relegated in 1934, the team wandered through various levels of the league, dropping to the fourth tier in 1981, winning the championship the following year to be promoted, and becoming one of the five teams in England to have won the fourth-tier league title. In 1992, they were a founding member of the Premier League and scored the first goal in Premier League history.

In 2013, Saudi capital invested in the club, and in 2019, they achieved a remarkable ninth place in the Premier League. In the 2023-24 season, they conceded a record 104 goals in the Premier League, leading to another relegation to the Championship.
