New England Revolution FC, abbreviated as "New England", was founded in 1994 and is a professional soccer club based in the Greater Boston area, competing in the Eastern Conference of Major League Soccer (MLS). It is one of the ten charter clubs of Major League Soccer (MLS) and has participated in the league since its inception.
The club is owned by Robert Kraft, who along with his son Jonathan Kraft also owns the New England Patriots. The term "Revolution" refers to the revolution that took place in the New England region from 1775 to 1783.
The New England Revolution won their first major trophy in the 2007 U.S. Open Cup. In 2008, New England won the North American SuperLiga championship, and in 2021, they won their first Supporters' Shield.
