The Jamaica national football team (abbreviated as "Jamaica", English name: Jamaica national football team) was established in 1901 and is managed by the Jamaica Football Federation.
In their debut at the 1998 FIFA World Cup in France, Jamaica finished the group stage with a record of 1 win and 2 losses, but their victory of 2-1 against Japan made them the first Caribbean English-speaking nation to win a match in World Cup history. On the stage of the CONCACAF Gold Cup, they entered a golden era starting in 2015, achieving the remarkable feat of reaching the semifinals for three consecutive tournaments, with silver medal finishes in 2015 and 2017, successfully breaking the dominance of Mexico and the United States in North American football with a team primarily composed of naturalized players.
In 2019, as co-hosts of the tournament, they continued their stable performance by reaching the semifinals, although they have yet to overcome the significant challenges posed by the USA and Mexico. Nevertheless, they have established themselves as a strong team in the region. The quarterfinal finish in the 2021 Gold Cup may seem modest, but their performance in the group stage, where they outperformed Costa Rica, still showcased the unique competitiveness of this team that blends English physicality with Caribbean rhythm. From being a newcomer in the World Cup to becoming a powerhouse in North and Central America, Jamaican football is rhythmically knocking on the door of the global football stage with a steel drum-like beat.
