Team Introduction

PEC Zwolle Football Club (abbreviated as "Zwolle", English name: PEC Zwolle) was founded in 1910 and is located in the city of Zwolle, Netherlands. It is a professional football club in the Netherlands.

In 1990, the club declared bankruptcy due to financial difficulties and was forced to restructure and rename itself FC Zwolle. In 2012, the club faced another severe financial crisis and was on the verge of dissolution. With the full support of fans and local businesses, the club was reborn and restored its original name PEC Zwolle. This experience greatly strengthened the bond between the club and the community.

In the 2014 KNVB Cup final, the club stunned the strong team Ajax with an astonishing score of 5-1, unexpectedly winning their first KNVB Cup title in history. This victory is one of the biggest upsets in the history of the KNVB Cup final.

On March 3, 2023, the team defeated SC Heerenveen in the league with a score of 13-0, breaking a series of records in Dutch history. This match became the largest victory in the history of the Dutch Eerste Divisie and the second largest victory in the history of Dutch football. Zwolle was immediately promoted back to the Eredivisie at the end of the season, finishing second in the league standings.
