Team Introduction

Orlando City SC, founded on November 19, 2013, is a professional soccer club based in Orlando, Florida. It is the 21st team in Major League Soccer, replacing the former USL team with the same name. They are the first MLS team in Florida since the dissolution of Miami Fusion and Tampa Bay Mutiny after the 2001 season. The franchise was acquired by Brazilian businessman Flavio Augusto da Silva and English businessman Phil Rawlins.

This team is the 21st in Major League Soccer, replacing the USL professional team with the same name. They are the first MLS team in Florida since the Miami Fusion and Tampa Bay Mutiny disbanded after the 2001 season. On September 7, 2022, Orlando City defeated Sacramento Republic, the USL champion, 3-0 in the 2022 U.S. Open Cup final, winning their first trophy in Major League Soccer.
