Real Valladolid CF, commonly known as Valladolid, was founded in 1928 and is a Spanish professional football club based in Valladolid, Castile and León, Spain. The team's main colors are purple and white, which have been used in the stripes on the jerseys since its inception.
The club first appeared in La Liga in the 1948-49 season, becoming the first club in the region to participate in the league. In the 2011-12 season, Valladolid, led by Miroslav Koukic, returned to La Liga and finished third in the league, qualifying for the playoffs. Valladolid was relegated back to Segunda División in the last match of the 2013-14 season. In the 2017-18 season, Valladolid returned to La Liga after four years, defeating Sporting Gijón and Numancia in the playoffs.
On September 3, 2018, Ronaldo Nazário, a former Brazilian international footballer, announced the acquisition of a 51% controlling stake in the club, becoming the majority shareholder. At the end of 2025, Nazario sold the controlling stake to Grupo Ignite.
