Arminia Bielefeld, founded in 1905, is a professional football club located in Bielefeld, Germany. The club was originally called Bielefeld Arminia Football Club and was renamed in 1926.
From 1980 to 1985, the club competed in the Bundesliga for five consecutive years, achieving eighth place twice during that period. The club also participated in the UEFA Intertoto Cup three times. However, in 1987, the club incurred a debt of 4.5 million marks and finished last in the 2. Bundesliga, resulting in relegation to the state league.
In the 2003-04 season, the team was promoted to the Bundesliga again, where it stayed for five seasons. During this time, they reached the semi-finals of the DFB-Pokal in both 2005 and 2006, but unfortunately lost on both occasions. In the 2021-23 season, the club faced relegation for two consecutive seasons, dropping from the Bundesliga to the Regionalliga. Additionally, in the 23-24 season, the club's captain, Fabian Kloss, announced his retirement, ending his 13-year professional career with the club.
