Bodø/Glimt Football Club (abbreviated as "Bodø/Glimt", English name: FK Bodø/Glimt) was founded on September 19, 1916, and is a football club located in Norway.
The "Glimt" in the club's name means "shine" in Norwegian. In 1975, the team first made its mark in Norwegian football by winning the Norwegian Cup. Although it has experienced ups and downs since then, it has remained competitive, lifting the Norwegian Cup again in 1993.
Since their return to the Eliteserien in 2018, this Arctic Circle team has achieved remarkable success, winning the Eliteserien championship four times in 2020, 2021, 2023, and 2024, including back-to-back titles in the 2020 and 2021 seasons. In the 2020 season, they won the championship with an astonishing record of 26 wins, 3 draws, and 1 loss, setting a new single-season points record in the Eliteserien.
Bodø/Glimt's success stems from a unique youth training system and tactical innovation. They are known for their fast and fluid attacking football, often achieving large-margin victories. Although located within the Arctic Circle, the team's home ground, Aspmyra Stadium, has become one of the most feared 'fortresses' for visiting teams in the Eliteserien.
