Team Introduction

Bologna Football Club (abbreviated as "Bologna", English name Bologna F.C. 1909) was founded in 1909 and is a professional football club located in Bologna, Emilia-Romagna, Italy. It is a founding member of Serie A. The team was originally formed by the Austrian Emilio Arnstein.

In the 1924-25 season, they won their first national championship, reaching their peak in the 1930s with three Serie A titles and adding another in the 1940-41 season, totaling seven top-flight league championships. They won their last Serie A title in the 1963-64 season and made their first appearance in the UEFA Champions League the following year.

In the 1970s, the team won the Coppa Italia twice, but then faced ups and downs, experiencing multiple promotions and relegations in the 1980s and 1990s. In 1998, they won the UEFA Intertoto Cup. After the Saputo family from Canada took over in 2014, the club stabilized and returned to Serie A in 2015.

After a revival under coach Motta in 2022, the team finished 5th in Serie A with 68 points in the 2023-24 season, returning to the UEFA Champions League after 60 years. In the 2024-25 season, although their performance in the Champions League was average, they won the Coppa Italia by defeating AC Milan 1-0, ending a 51-year drought for cup titles.
