Eintracht Braunschweig, commonly known as "Braunschweig", was founded in 1895 and is a football club located in Braunschweig, Lower Saxony, Germany. It is a professional football club in Germany.
Before World War II, the club achieved success in regional competitions, winning the Northern German Championship in 1908 and 1913. After the war, Braunschweig returned to the Oberliga Nord and became one of the 16 teams that participated in the inaugural Bundesliga in 1963.
From 1963 to 1973, the club played a total of 322 matches in the Bundesliga. In the 1984-85 season, Eintracht Braunschweig was relegated from the Bundesliga for the third time. During the 2018-19 season, Braunschweig's poor performance on the field nearly led to relegation to the fourth division, but they ultimately managed to stay up by goal difference. In the following season, the team finished in third place and returned to the 2. Bundesliga. In the 2020-21 season, the team was relegated again but ultimately finished in second place and was promoted once more.
