Brentford Football Club (abbreviated as "Brent", English name: Brentford F.C.) was founded in 1889. Its full name is Brentford Football Club, and fans generally refer to it as Brentford. It is a professional football club located in Brentford, West London, England, nicknamed "The Bees."
In 1920, it became a founding member of the Football League. Under the management of Harry Curtis in the 1930s, the club reached its peak, achieving promotion twice in three years to the top division, and finishing 5th in the 1935-36 season, the best in the club's history. However, it then faced decades of ups and downs, often hovering in lower divisions, and nearly faced merger due to financial crises, surviving thanks to fan support.
After the investment from Matthew Benham in 2007, the team revived, winning the fourth-tier championship in the 2008-09 season and being promoted to the Championship in 2013-14. In the 2020-21 season, Ivan Toney scored 31 goals, setting a Championship record, leading the team to a 2-0 victory over Swansea in the playoff final, ending a streak of nine playoff defeats and marking their first return to the Premier League in 74 years.
Since 2021, the team has consistently been in the mid-table of the Premier League, finishing 13th, 9th, 16th, and 10th in the first four seasons. In 2025, head coach Thomas Frank left to manage Tottenham, and Keith Andrews took over, continuing to compete in the top league.
