V-Varen Nagasaki, established in 2005, is a professional football club located in Nagasaki, the capital of Nagasaki Prefecture, Japan.
In 2009, the team applied for J.League associate membership and was approved at the J.League council meeting in February. In 2012, the team won the Japan Football League championship, thus being promoted to the J.League Division 2. Five years later, in the 2017 season, the team finished as runners-up, earning promotion to J1 League for the first time.
In 2012, the club won the Japan Football League championship, marking their first promotion to the J. League, and hired local resident Takuya Takagi as the head coach for the 2013 season. In 2017, the team defeated Kamatamare Sanuki 3-1 at home, achieving their first promotion to the J1 League in history.
