Bodø/Glimt Football Club (abbreviated as "Bodø/Glimt", English name: FK Bodø/Glimt) was founded on August 10, 1918, and is a football club located in Hamar, Norway.
In the 1970 season, the club achieved third place in the league, marking the best performance in the club's history. From the 1980s to the early 1990s, Bodø/Glimt became a typical "yo-yo" team, frequently moving between the top and second divisions. In the 1993 season, they had a chance to contend for the championship but ultimately finished in fifth place, which is also the club's best performance in the Eliteserien era.
Financial issues have always plagued this team, which was on the brink of bankruptcy in 1998 and survived thanks to investments from private investors. In 2003, under the legendary coach Ståle Solbakken, Hønefoss returned to the top league after an 8-year absence and surprisingly finished in fifth place. Solbakken is affectionately referred to by fans as the "savior" for his role in saving the team.
Hønefoss was promoted to the Eliteserien again in 2022, continuing their fluctuating fate. Although they have never won a major tournament, their best performance in the Norwegian Cup was reaching the semifinals, Hønefoss occupies a special place in Norwegian football due to its resilience and unique community culture.
