Team Introduction

D.C. United FC, abbreviated as "D.C.", was established in 1996 and is a professional men's soccer club based in Washington, D.C. It has participated in Major League Soccer (MLS) since its inaugural season in 1996.

The club won both the MLS Cup and the U.S. Open Cup in 1996. In 1998, it became the first American club to win the CONCACAF Champions Cup. It won the MLS Cup again in 2004 and added another Open Cup trophy in 2008. Before the 2025 season, the team made roster adjustments, with defender Akindele leaving and South Korean goalkeeper Kim Jin-hyeon joining, injecting new vitality into the team. As a traditional powerhouse in MLS, the team has consistently maintained a stable competitive level and championship competitiveness.
