The Canada men's national soccer team, abbreviated as "Canada" (French: Équipe nationale masculine de soccer du Canada), was established in 1924 and is managed by the Canadian Soccer Association as the national level soccer team.
The Canada men's soccer team has long lacked impressive results on the international stage, with its historical starting point tracing back to the 1904 Olympic soccer tournament in St. Louis, where the Galt Football Club represented Canada and won the gold medal, but this was only a demonstration event, not contested by a national team and not officially recognized by FIFA.
In their World Cup journey, the team only reached the finals once in the 1986 Mexico World Cup, but they finished at the bottom of their group with zero goals and were eliminated. After that, they missed eight consecutive tournaments for 36 years. The 2022 Qatar World Cup qualifiers became a turning point, as Canada outperformed traditional powerhouses like the United States and Mexico to qualify directly as the top team from the North and Central America and Caribbean region. As one of the co-hosts of the 2026 World Cup, the Canadian men's national team will make a historic consecutive appearance in the finals.
