Al-Ahli Saudi Football Club, commonly known as "Al-Ahli", was founded on March 17, 1937, and is a professional football club based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
This Green Eagles team has written a glorious chapter in the history of Saudi football, having won the King Cup more than ten times, including achieving a three-peat twice at the end of the 1960s and the end of the 1970s. The team won its first Saudi League title in 1978 and topped the league again in 1984.
After signing stars like Firmino and Mahrez in the summer transfer window of 2023, the team exploded in the 2024-25 season, not only finishing third in the Saudi League but also making significant progress in the AFC Champions League. In May 2025, Al-Ittihad defeated Japan's Kawasaki Frontale 2-0 at King Abdullah Sports City, finally achieving their dream of winning the AFC Champions League, thus compensating for their previous runner-up finishes in 1986 and 2012. This victory made the club the fourth Saudi team to win the AFC Champions League, marking the return of this traditional powerhouse to the pinnacle of Asian football.
From dominating domestically in the 1960s to reaching the pinnacle of Asia in 2025, Al-Ittihad has consistently maintained its status as a top-tier Saudi club. The derby match against city rivals Al-Ettifaq is one of the most heated encounters in Saudi football.
