SC Cambuur, abbreviated as "Cambuur", was established in 1964 and is located in Leeuwarden, the capital of Friesland, Netherlands. It is a professional football club in the Netherlands.
In its history, the club won the Dutch Eerste Divisie championship in the 1991-1992 and 2012-2013 seasons, and was promoted to the Eredivisie three times through the playoffs (in the 2014-2015 and 2020-2021 seasons). In cup competitions, Cambuur reached the semifinals of the KNVB Cup in the 1999-2000 season and famously eliminated PSV Eindhoven in the semifinals in the 2012-2013 season. In the 2021-2022 Eredivisie season, the team achieved one of its most glorious victories by defeating Ajax 4-0 at home.
The club returned to the top league after winning the 2020-21 season of the Dutch Eerste Divisie. In the 2021-22 season, Cambuur achieved ninth place in the league, marking the highest ranking in the club's history. However, the following season proved to be challenging, and on May 6, 2023, Cambuur was relegated back to the Dutch Eerste Divisie after losing 0-3 away to FC Utrecht.
