Al-Shabab Football Club, abbreviated as "Al-Shabab", was established in 1947, originally named Al Riyadh ("Riyadh Youth Party"). In 1967, it was renamed Al Shabab. It is a professional football club based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, participating in the Saudi Professional League.
In 2007, Al-Shabab became the first club in Saudi Arabia to undertake projects to increase revenue, launching a $200 million project that included a five-star hotel and a shopping mall. In January 2008, Al-Shabab's main supporter, Khalid bin Sultan, announced the launch of two new projects during a visit to the club: the Al Laith TV channel and the Al-Shabab Museum.
