Leeds United Football Club (abbreviated as "Leeds United", in English: Leeds United) was originally also called "Leeds United Football Club". It was founded in 1904 but was forcibly dissolved due to illegal incidents involving employees. It was re-established in 1919 at Salem Church and is a club with a rich history and many stories in English football, nicknamed "The Whites". The club is located in the city of Leeds, West Yorkshire.
Leeds United has won the English top-flight league championship three times and has also won the FA Cup, the League Cup, and the old Inter-Cities Fairs Cup twice (the predecessor of European competitions). They reached their peak in the 1960s and 70s under coach Don Revie, known for their aggressive style of play. The "Rose Derby" against Manchester United is one of the fiercest rivalries in England.
After entering the 21st century, Leeds United experienced dramatic ups and downs. Due to financial crises, they fell from the Premier League all the way down to the third tier (League One), struggling for many years. In 2020, under the leadership of the Argentine 'madman coach' Marcelo Bielsa, they returned to the Premier League after a 16-year absence, thrilling the fans. After staying in the Premier League for three years, they were relegated again in 2023. Under the guidance of Daniel Farke, Leeds United made a strong return to the Premier League in 2025 as the Championship winners, performing steadily throughout the season and ultimately standing out in fierce competition.
